                                    PINK SHIRT DAY!

Aloha bloggers, last week was pink shirt day and everyone at school had to wear pink. Anyway in the morning we did wen to take a big photo all together and we shaped a pink t- shirt. After that we had fruit break and all the Y6s had to go to Ms Sands to learn a new game for cultural day. Mrs Maiava came to teach us a new game called Ki O'Rahi it took quite a long time to learn how to play and play the game it was really fun in the end and was so hard at the same time. After trying to learn how to play Ki O'Rahi after that we came inside to do some blogging. A long time after blogging about Spark Arena it felt like a eternity, we finally got outside when the bell rang and went to do my duties. HEHEHE DUTIES...

Anyway during morning tea me and my friends got out a bike. We went outside and started riding it was so fun because we had loads of races and I think I won some of them. After what felt like another fun hour of playing outside and riding bikes the handbell rang to take the bikes and equipment back to the shed. The bell was about te rang then all In heard was RING RING RING the bell rang so I raced my friends back to class and we finished our blogs. A while after blogging and finishing many unfinished stuff we were doing dance. We learnt how to dance in Tongan the week before and we learnt how to do more like dance in Samoan HOW FUN RIGHT! Anway that all that we did!

         PROCEDURAL WRITING TEXT!!!

Aloha bloggers, this week and last week we were learning how to write instructions or also called procedural text. Tinkling is a game where you have two bamboos sticks and three people. One person is jumping while the other two people doing this type of rhythm with the bamboo sticks its a super fun game and maybe you can try it out!

There are so much ways to play this game and it was really fun learning this game. The coolest part about writing a procedural text was that I got to learn how to play this fun game while writing a procedural text. Check out the TE WAKA AKO BLOG TOO! I hope you enjoy taking a read or just a look at my work. ALOHA bloggers!!!

STEM WEEK WAIKOWHAI STUDENT LED TOOLKITS!

Aloha bloggers,

Last week we had a student led toolkits in school for STEM WEEK. We had twenty four presenters and twelve  toolkits they had forty five minutes minutes to teach us what they had like book creator and have fun. We had to choose three of those options. The three main options that I chose was Makey Makey, Sphero, Webcam toy.

My first toolkit I did was Makey Makey it was so fun because we got to make music with either playdough, a banana or with legos. It super fun but honestly I just liked the piano and the bongo and fiddling with them. My favourite part about doing the Makey Makey was that I got to play the piano by making keys out of different things and also playing the bongos with some play dough and legos. I really liked doing Makey Makey because of al
l the music we were making.

My second toolkit that I went to was Webcam Toy. It is on google and you just need to type webcam toy in the address bar have fun! Anyway me and my friend Santanna basically took funny photos the whole time it was so funny and fun. We had so much fun taking funny photos for forty five minutes to take as much photos as we could. During the forty five minutes Miss Daly my teacher was taking photos of all our photos. A couple minutes later we had to switch and go to our next toolkit.

My last toolkit was the Sphero and it was the funniest of all the toolkits I did because we got to control the little Sphero from our chromebooks the best part of all was that it could change colours and we made a maze for it with chairs. It was the best and I loved chasing it around and putting it on the ramps. It was so so so fun cool at the same time. I loved  doing the Spheros and changing the colours and chasing it around.  It was so fun and I would definitely do all of it again. Aloha Bloggers!

Y6 TRIP TO SPARK ARENA

                        SPARK ARENA!!!

Aloha bloggers, This morning at 9:00am the year sixes went to spark arena. It took us 15 - 20 minutes. Traffic was slow but we finally got there and we were so excited to get in. I sat with my friend Arielle and in front of us was my other friends Erana and Chrystelle. It felt really cool and  for some reason it felt so huge in the bus. We played a game because we were bored, so decided we were waving at random people who drove passed us and who ever got the most waves back won. We finally got there and boy were we excited. Me and my friends were walking and talking at the same time. We went inside and sat down. My teacher Ms Daly and Ms Jones took a photo with Suzy Cato before we went inside. They looked excited taking photos with Suzy Cato.

Anway Suzy Cato and the CEO of of Spark Arena showed us around and told us two or more things about Spark Arena. We first went to HAPPY PLACE me and my friends and were so excited to jump into the ball pit. We waited in line. What felt like 10 hours, we finally made it to the front. We walked up the stairs and the helper for the ball pit called 4,3,2,1 JUMP!. We jumped with excitement. Its really funny how we waited for so long, and it only felt like a 2 minute thrill. But I admit. It was worth the wait.  We walked and saw a rubber ducky room that was all yellow including the balls and the bath tub that. It felt weird being in a room full of rubber duckies.

Next we walked and saw an upside down room and waited in line to take a photo. The line was so long but then we realised that we could have another jump in the ball pit so we went for another round and this time it didn't take long for me to get out and I was very proud. Anyway we left the Happy Place and went to Sounds Fun We looked at frames that were signed by artist like Bruno Mars and Katy Perry and way more people it was so cool. We played an electric drum and played some keys and notes on a piano Me and my friends tried a trombone. It like a trumpet but it sounded deep. My first go at it and it sounded so bad. It was really fun making a lot of funny noises and to me it kinda sounded like a dying elephant.

Then after Sounds Fun we went to Van Gogh alive it was really cool and really interesting well I guess to me. The year sixes were taking a photo while I was still reading about Van Gogh. I didn't realise until I looked back and they were taking a photo WITHOUT ME  how RUDE! so I quickly walked there and sat down to take a photo with the other year sixes. Me and my friends went to go sit down on the floor while the projector was casting Van Gogh painting on the floor. My favourite Van Gogh painting was the live train painting. After a while at staring and looking at Van Gogh's amazing paintings we left.

Next we walked into a whole room of daisys it was really cool. The room smelt like daisies. It had mirrors all over the room and it made it look like we were in a field of daisies. it was a really cool effect. We were done with the day but the Spark Arena staff gave us a pack of food and it was so delicious. The lunch pack came with an apple, juice, ham sandwich and chippies. Once we finished lunch we walked to the bus and hoped on with my friends. Traffic was way better then when we left in the morning. it only took ANOTHER 5- 15 minuets before we got back to school in time for lunch time. And that was my day and experience at Spark Arena. Thank you for reading my blog. ALOHA BLOGGERS!!

READING CULTURAL GAMES ( BOSSABALL)

                              BOSSABALL

Aloha bloggers, for reading this week we choose to do cultural sports like bossaball from Spain. So we read around 5 different games from other countries there was way more sports than I thought. So that's why I choose bossaball. Bossaball looked really fun so I choose it. I did a infographic about bossaball it was really fun to make and find four facts or information. Me and my friends mostly did the same thing like my friend Erana. My favourite fact about bossaball is that volleyball and football were combined together in 2005 to make bossaball. Another fun fact about bossaball is samba referees are coaches of bossaball and not only are they coaches they are a the DJ’S TOO! Anyway here is a link to my infographic! Aloha bloggers!! HERE IS A PHOTO OF IT!

                             ANZAC DAY

Aloha bloggers,

On Wednesday the 14th my birthday we experienced what it was like at war. Early in the morning our teachers Miss Daly, Mrs Sands and Mrs Jones set up some wires about a metre off the ground. It was called ' No Mans Land' which is called trenches are a underground hiding place and a place where you would shoot their enemy. Every time you would touch a wire the teachers would take a point away. The points started at ten and I stayed at ten WOOP WOOP!

Anway after they did the roll and everything everybody came in and had to go into the wires and had to grab our art books on the way. We got in and guess what we had to do. WE HAD TO DO BASIC FACTS. In the trenches everybody was mad and bored. And to make that moment even worser there was sound effects that sounded like bombs, guns, people dying and so much things. Everybody didn't really like the sounds. But I kinda did. The next day we got our tests I got a 53 which was not that bad for me actually.

After the basic facts test and sounds we had fruit and 2 laps of the field. It was not to bad until we went back in. My knees felt like they were on rocks and the wires were just every where so I bargained to start doing my rolly polly on the floor and I nearly almost hit my head on my birthday. After our fruit we did ANZAC maths. It started off easy then hard than even more harder. After that some people could go swimming if you bring your togs if you didn't than you had to stay.

Sergeant Jones took us and we swam for about ten minutes It was raining so bad. Then we did swimming,
it was finally morning tea and everybody knees felt a little better. After morning tea we wrote letters for our parents and had to write a acrostic poem. Well all of that took about 3 minutes and after that we did picto draw and that was really fun picto draw was like when a teacher says what happened and then you get like one minute to draw it.  Next we started drawing and we finished and got a buddy and had to blind fold them and unwind the strings.

Here is a link to my letter in docs and my poem LINK. After that fun day I felt so good and everybody sang happy birthday to me and started to pack up and take the furneters down. It was such a fun day and had ton of fun. Thank you so much for reading my blogs and can't wait to blog next term. Aloha bloggers!

LOCKDOWN 4

                                   LOCKDOWN  4

Aloha Bloggers, last week Auckland had another lockdown. It was pretty scary but luckily it was only for one week. For some odd reason it was kinda fun. The only bad reason I hated about lockdown is that I couldn't see my friends and family during it so that was pretty sad. Anyway I got to drop off some cinnamon rolls to my friend and I really missed her. That was kinda fun.

After that I hoped that we went back to level 2 next week and we did and now I am really happy that we did go back. Anyway my favourite activity for school was doing the lockdown diary. I really had fun doing it everyday. It was really fun I didn't know that we had to finish the whole slide so I was kinda sad about that.

I really loved the lockdown diary it was the best. In lockdown 1 my dad built a cool playground. The
playground had a seesaw, slide and a swing we still have all of it and played on it yesterday. It was so much fun. we decorated it with some chalks to but it rained and came off. That was sad hard work going back to nowhere.

But today is school and I was really excited to come back after lockdown. But I was late so I was kinda mad about that. But I did see my friends and I really did missed them. Anyway we are doing blogging now which I really did miss school but we couldn't go. Anyway I am back at school ready and having fun. Hopefully you do too. Aloha bloggers and have a good day.

 Christmas dot art!

Kia orana blogger, This morning we did dot art. Dot art is like where you get a piece of paper that has anything on it the you get a pin and  poke holes on the dots. It really fun but the only bad thing about it is that it hurts when you hold the pin and poke holes. Anyway once you finished poking holes in your paper hang it on your window. For our dot art we used 1 piece of coloured paper. 1 small pin and our dot art paper. When we finished it looked so cool and it had a big cool start on it. And you can also make a card with it and give it to your friends or family. Here is a photo of my art hope you like it!

Have a good Christmas Bloggers, Aloha Bloggers!

Skateboarding

                                    SKATEBOARDING

Kia orana Bloggers! Welcome back to my blog. Have you ever been skateboarding? Well I have just today. Here is all of the the techniques they taught us. Lawrence our coach taught us how to crab walk, tick tack walk and how to carve. All of these things were super duper fun to do. When we finished all of games we got to have five minutes of free time which was ultimately my favourite part of it.

And we learned how to do a willie flip. If you don't know what the WILLIE FLIP is, it is a flip were you put a skateboard on your toes and flip it which was quite easy to do. Anyway we played a game called whats up WOLFPACK. First we had to have a wolf then the wolf would say what's up wolf pack then we would say what's up WOLF!!!

Then we would skateboard then the wolf would turn around and we are suppose to stop. Then we will do it again except for saying what's up wolf. Then after that we would have free time. Then it was all finished. It was so fun I can't wait to do it again! ALOHA BLOGGERS SEE YA LATER!!!.

Production

PRODUCTION : JASMINE & ALADDIN!
For one whole week we did production rehearsals and production. We did rehearsals on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday half of Wednesday was dress rehearsals and then the next half was production. For production I was in the Item and it took  6 weeks to practise and remember the dance, which was pretty hard. Anyway the dance was super embarrassing at the same time too. Because on the last day of production my parents came and I was kinda happy and kinda scared. Here is my friends and my rolls in production.

Faith / Me: Item
Arielle: Fish
Erana: Palace guard
Chrystelle: Item
After the first production was finished their was still two more to go and it was SO SO TIRING.The song for the item was R.E.S.P.E.C.T by Aretha Franklin (a remix). By the way the aducince reaction was really really fun to watch. Production this year was super fun and I would rate it a 10/10. It was the best production ever and I wore this purple dress that was super cool and comfy and I liked it. Anyway thank you bloggers for reading my blog ALOHA!!!! Here is some photos!!!!!

WONDER PROJECT

                                              WONDER PROJECT!!!!

Bonjour Bloggers, yesterday we blasted off Waitemata's rockets. If you want read  about the Wonder Project then just read this blog post. My teammates names were:

  • Angelina - the Captain
  • Yousuf - chief engineer
  • Anthony - chief safety officer
  • Me - the chief scientist!
After choosing what engineers we wanted to be, we started building rockets. We thought of how well it would fly or how far it would fly too. So we just waited for the shoot off which was the week after we finished building our first rockets and remember this was the final flights for the Wonder Project.

When we started shooting our rockets it went up super high but it didn't go far. To determine how far it would go or how high it would go up in the air we had to add some water into the bottle. We could put in 25 ml for our first flight and 300 ml for our last on. How much would you put in your water bottle if you made a rocket?  I would add 325ml in my bottle if I was you. Anyway when it was our turn to blast off our rocket we decided that we should point it 45 angles towards south, and mostly everyone did that too.

Someone had to pump and of course it was me. We had to pump the pressure from 0 to 60. When we did that Angelina started recording all of the PSI or the wind. 3, 2, 1 BLAST OFF ours went super high but didn't go that far. It went 14 .36 metres, which for our group was pretty far to be honest, we even beat our own score. We went last and we were in last place but no one was mad.  When everyone did their rocket we clapped and all went inside and put away our Wonder Project equipment. And that was the whole experience of the Wonder Project. Aloha bloggers!!!!!!!

Art

                                 Printing Art

Ki Orana Bloggers,
This week we have been doing a lot of printing art. If you don't know what printing art is when you draw something. Then you get printing ink and spread it on a board then put your art on the board then get a pencil and trace your art.

The colour that I choose for my art was purple. And it was such a pretty kind of purple. Purple was the colour that was famous because all of us used it. After a while of spreading my ink on my bored with my roller. I finished. Then I realised I saw so many lines so I keeped on rolling in till it was all gone.

Then I needed my piece of art. After getting my art, I slowly put it on the board with my friend Chrystelle. Then later I took so long for me to get settled because I was so scared that I would muck it all up. Then I just went for it and did it. When I got use to drawing hard on the ink and paper. It actually felt really easy to do.

Then after that I finished it. When I picked my art up off the bored the line was crooked but I didn't mind that at all. Then after that I finished. But the bell was about to ring so I was not allowed to add pastel. I was so happy that I finished. I was so scared to open it too. After that I washed the boards that had ink on it with my friend Santanna. Then we have finished. Thank you so much for reading my blog. See you next time bloggers!!!

Netball

                            NETBALL!!!!

Ki orana bloggers,
Welcome back to my blog. Last week was our second game of the term! And let me tell you it was super duper fun. First thing we had to do was warm up on court 6. It was super fun just practising. All the positions I played was wing attack, goal keeper. My favourite position was wing attack.

Tomorrow we will have a game, which I am so excited about.  And yes I will put some photos of my Netball game from last week. My mum dropped me off and before we went to my game we had a very delicious hot chocolate from Mcdonalds. Which was really yummy!!

Anyways when we got to my game none of my teammates were there, so me and my Mum went to go practise before my big game. And when my Mum was little she played Netball too. So she knows how to coach me. Anyways again, I bought my Netball ball to practise with and do some shots in the hoop.

When the team all came we practised with my ball and to be honest I kinda felt jealous that everyone was touching it. Anyways when we started I had so much fun but I kept on passing the line all the time. And it was kinda funny. When we finished Erana got the player of the day and she really deserved it. She did really good and then we got to eat a bunch of lollies. Then everyone left. And I said goodbye to my friends. And that's all from me today, have a good weekend and stay safe. Bye bloggers❤πŸ™‹

Matariki

                                Matariki

Bula Bloggers, Welcome back to my blog.
Yesterday my whole school and I did Matariki. We all did in our own classes.

Our first block!!!  Stop motion animation
Matariki or the seven sisters. The first thing we did was to partner up with a buddy my buddy was called Peitynn. Maybe I could add the video so all you guys can watch what we made! Anyways we made our characters out of clay and we made our background out of paper and coloured it in with Maori colours like red, black and white but we didn't colour it in white. Uhhh anyways again way off track.
Then when it was ten fifty four we had to stop. To go to morning tea.

Now we are on the second block which was kite making!!
First we had to get a strip of paper and start making patterns on the different strips of paper. Then when we were finished we had to give to the students that had to glue it on the kite. And at the end there will be some really cool photos of it!!. Again off track after everyone's pattern was glued on the massive kite we put red and black feathers on it. Then we hung up on the walls or the roof. Then we finished at 12:56.

Then after lunch we did  FRY BREAD!!!! AKA SO SO YUMM.
The first thing we had to do was so obvious washing our hands to we don't put germs on the dough. It was super easy to make all you needed was water and self raising powder how easy is that. So much times now kinda off track. Then when we finished and came back from the toilet from washing our dirty hands but not mine. Then the teacher started pouring the self raising powder and water in and made dough. Then she split so we could have a turn rolling it with a rolling pin well it wasn't a rolling pin it was actually a glad wrap roll but don't tell her I wrote it on here! Then the teacher called our group up
and we fried my favourite part was eating it was so so so yum and yes it deserves three so's okay. We could add butter , Nutella , jam and golden syrup. Then when we were finished we cleaned up all our mess and then it was super close to three o'clock. And that's all I got to say have a good weekend and goodbye!

Cross Country!!!πŸƒ

                  CROSS COUNTRY!

On the 2 of July I did cross country with my whole school. It all started at 11:00. And you had to line up in your year group. I was in year 5. Then when the bell rang we all went to our station. The first station I went to was when you could go on the playground and you could play indoor house games like chess or jenga. My favourite game was jenga I had so much fun playing. Then after that the bell rang and when the bells rings you have to take your year chair and go to your next station.

The next station we went to is tennis. Me and Airielle were partners for it. And let me tell you were so bad at it. It was such a total disaster. And so we moved to another place which was way more better because when other people hit their ball and our ball was running away from me it nearly hit my face. We only do the activity for like 20 minutes. When 20 minutes passed by so fast we had to get in the line really hard to do that.

Then we moved to our next station which was DUN DUN DUNNNN  Blindfold challenge. Before we had to start we had to pick another partner boring. My partner was Chrystelle she was super nice when it was my turn. Anyways for the game you had to put a blindfold on in then your partner had to tell you to go left right forward to pick up the beanbags. Then we had to lead them back to the start and some got points if you did well. Then the bell rang and I was so happy because it was kinda boring sorry and I am telling the truth.

Our next station was cheering then it would be the hardest thing of all of them the RUNNING and I was so lucky because they had to run last. Anyways way off track we started cheering for the year 4s. I saw my cousin run Valerie. And let me tell you I shouted with all my voice and I nearly threw my voice out of my house. Which means I nearly lost my voice.

Then it was finally our turn and the boys got to go first which was mean. Then it started and I was so tired so fast. The year 5's and 6's had to run two times and I was so so tired of running then I was nearly there and I made it I came 6th place out of all of it. I was pretty happy with coming 6th place so now I don't have to go to zones which was really hard. Cause I have been there before. I actually thought I would maybe come 1st 2nd or 3rd. Here is some photos of when I struggled running. And there might be a photo of you too. Blog you laterπŸ™‹πŸ™‹

Some of my friends running too.
  My awesome STRONG FINISH .

                        Poem Recital πŸ‘Œ
Bonjour bloggers, Welcome back to my blog.

Yesterday we did our poem recital. My poem was called My flat cat here is a link to it. We had 4 weeks to memorise it. And Luckily I memorised all of mine when it was my turn. I also did some actions but not much. If you did action you would get extra points. Anyways our  deputy principal Ms McGrath came to see our recital as it was part of our production audition. I was very nervous and excited at the same time too. And after we said our poem she would ask us an easy question. She would say what would your first reference be and your second one a role in production. I said minor or major roll. My favourite part of it was when it was all finished. I had butterflies in my stomach when it was my turn. I felt relieved after I finished my poem and sat down on the floor for the next person to go up. When everyone finished we went back into our own classes. Hope you liked the poem I linked to this blog post. Blog you later!πŸ™‹πŸ™‹πŸ™‹

Reading choiceboard

                   Reading choice board

Talofa lava bloggers, Welcome back to my blog. In school after we stopped doing choice board we started reading in our real reading classes. We have been doing all types of new activities that we haven't heard or done before like the poem called Black Brother by Joshua Iosefa. That was my favorite reading task.
You had to write the whole poem that he said and I am only half way through it.

Anyway in my reading class we have been reading this book called  Proud Blue. It was a very inspirational book to read. In our choice board I choose to do another task called read & respond. For this activity I had to read the book Proud Blue. Then after that I had to write what I liked about it what I didn't like and what I didn't understand about it. It was a like  four minute job which I liked.

Here is a photo of the poem Black Brother and the story called Proud Blue Blog you laterπŸ™‹πŸ™‹πŸ™‹

              LOCKDOWN SMACKDOWN

In Te Waka Ako we have been working on a slide show called the lockdown smackdown. A lockdown smackdown is basically a slide show. In the the slide show you can use a site that you used before. And when you are finished with you whole page then you would have to talk about what you choose for your lockdown smackdown. It was a super fun thing to do with my buddy. Oh wait and before you do anything at all you had to find a buddy my buddy was Arielle here is a link to her blog. Anyways back to the lockdown smackdown there was all types of sites that other kids in my class choose. Me and Arielle choose scribble io. Click on the picture to find the site.
HERE IS ME AND ARIELLES SLIDE. BYE BLOGGERS
