Aloha bloggers.
On Wednesday our school went to an art centre in Auckland. First one of the staff came to take us in for a tour. Then they talked to us about all of the pacific countries and how they came to be in New Zealand.
Then when they taught us about all of the Pacific countries we started to do our workshop. There was two types of workshops one was called the Garden of Eden wich you can make leis for your family. The other work shop was drumming. Drums had different names like skin drums and log drums.
The last part of the day was the Hawaiin dance and I loved it. My favourite part of the day was the drumming because we could hit the drums and follow the rhythm. My other favourite part of the day was making a lei for my mum. My lei had a lot of colours like blue, purple, red, white, black and magenta. The pattern we had to follow was flower straw flower straw. You use the straw to make spaces in between of the flowers.
After everything was finished I felt so happy because the staff there were very funny and kind and it was so fun there I wanted to go there again.
